MEET ROB

A New Voice in Frankfort Delivering Results for Jessamine and Fayette Counties.

Robert "Rob" L. Gullette III was born and raised in Jessamine County, Kentucky.  After graduating from East Jessamine High School, Rob received a Bachelor of Science in Buisiness Administration from the College of Charleston in South Carolina and his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University in Indiana.     After completing his education, Rob returned to his hometown of Nicholasville, Kentucky to start his legal practice.  As a solo practitioner, Rob handled a wide range of matters from wrongful death and personal injury to felony criminal defense.  Today, Rob's main practice areas revolve around family law, estate planning, probate and criminal defense.

In addition to his private practice, Rob serves as the City Attorney for the City of Wilmore, Kentucky. Rob is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Rob is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is President of the Jessamine County Bar Association.

When not working as an attorney, Rob is the race organizer for local Coaster Car Derby races in Nicholasville and Wilmore.  He is also devoted to and highly involved with the Creative Art League of Jessamine County and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition.  In his free time, Rob is an avid sportsman and trap shooter.  He served on the executive committee of the Bluegrass Sportman's League, Shotgun division and is a member of the NRA, ATA and NSCA.

Rob is married to Erin M. Gullette and they have three beautiful daughters, Madison, Eleanor and Stella.  Rob and his family live in Nicholasville where they attend church at Jessamine Christian Church.

As a native of Jessamine County, the primary reason that I seek to become the State Representative for the 39th District is my sincere desire to help correct what I see as growing problems within our state. Last November, the 39th District voted overwhelmingly to elect a Republican, Matt Bevin, as our Governor.  I must believe that this was because the voters share, as I do, his vision for the future of the Commonwealth.

I am a lifetime resident of the 39th District. I was educated in its public schools and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.  After college I enrolled in and graduated from  Valparaiso University, School of Law where I received my Juris Doctor.  After law school, I returned to Nicholasville where I married my wonderful wife, Erin.

For the last 8 years I have practiced law in Nicholasville, and through that work, I have become familiar with both the laws of the Commonwealth and the working of our court system. I have become all too familiar with the many issues that are important to small business owners and local families.   In addition to my private practice, I am the City Attorney for Wilmore, Kentucky and through those efforts, I have learned much about the unique problems that face our cities.

The most important issue facing the Commonwealth is the financial problems that exist within the state's retirement systems.  Prior administrations have lacked the courage to make the tough decisions that the state's current and retired employees, police and educators deserve.  These problems demand solutions which must come through the streamlining of state government which will make it work more efficiently. I will work to help eliminate this crisis without either creating additional debt on the backs of future generations or raising taxes upon current taxpayers.
